Fire as a creative principle in old India
Fire was of central importance in ancient India. The fire ritual, called Agnicayana in India, is the oldest known ritual that is still practised today. We owe the renewed performance of the ritual in particular to Frits Staal, who has spent a lifetime researching it and was a driving force behind the realisation of the project.
