Schiller

It is an honour and a pleasure for me to speak about Schiller
Schiller places art as the ‘daughter of freedom’ and the aesthetic as the only possible way to solve the political problem at the beginning of his letters. He justifies his conviction that beauty is the key ‘through which one wanders to freedom’ in the course of the letters.
‘A task for more than a century’
(7th letter)
‘Give, then, I will answer the young friend of truth and beauty, who wants to know from me how he can satisfy the noble impulse in his breast, despite all the resistance of the century, give the world, on which you act, the direction to the good, so the calm rhythm of time will bring development.’
(9th letter)
All who walk in beauty will rise in beauty.
Rainer Maria Rilke 1875 - 1926
