Sanskrit

स्वागतम्

When I heard Sanskrit mantras recited for the first time during a yoga course while travelling in India, I was deeply impressed by the power of the language. Immediately afterwards, I decided to study Indology at the University of Tübingen and my first impression was confirmed. Sanskrit is a beautiful language with a highly developed and complex grammar that enables it to express itself in very finely differentiated ways.

The ancient tradition of passing on the sacred wisdom contained in the Vedas orally still exists in a few monasteries in India and has even been recognised by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site.

Although access to these monasteries is not permitted for women, I was able to participate in monastic life and conduct research.

Sanskrit mantras are recited in many yoga centres and other contexts today. The sound of the language is the main focus, but a deeper understanding of the language is of great value. Therefore, I would be happy to share what I have learnt with you.

If you have already encountered the Sanskrit language and want to understand it or the meaning of the mantras better, then please contact me.

It would be a great pleasure!!
